Device Settings
Access device settings by selecting any device from your device list to open the device detail page, then tap the Settings menu item.
Bluetooth Connection
Connection Status
View your device's current connection status:
- Connection Status: Displays whether the device is currently connected to your phone
Managing Connections
- Connect: Tap to establish a direct connection to the device
- Disconnect: Tap to disconnect from the device (the device remains part of your mesh network)
If you're experiencing connectivity issues, try to connect to the device you are trying to configure.
Replace Device
Use this feature when you need to swap out a device while keeping all its settings and automations intact.
When to use Replace Device:
- Your device is malfunctioning and needs replacement
- You're upgrading to a newer model of the same device type
How it works:
- Tap Replace Device
- Follow the setup process for your new device
- All existing settings, schedules, and automations transfer automatically to the replacement device
Clone Device
Create an exact copy of a device's settings and apply them to another device of the same type.
When to use Clone Device:
- Setting up multiple identical devices (like multiple ceiling lights)
- Standardizing settings across device groups
How it works:
- Tap Clone Device
- Select the target device you want to copy settings to
- All settings from the original device are applied to the target device
Both devices must be the same type and model for cloning to work properly.
Prepare for Handover (Advanced)
This advanced feature performs a soft reset on your device, preparing it for use with another Bluetooth® Mesh compatible app. The device keeps essential settings like meshbox port configurations, making it compatible with other lighting control apps that may not support full device reconfiguration.
When to use Prepare for Handover:
- Switching to a different lighting control app while keeping basic functionality
- Integrating devices with third-party Bluetooth® Mesh systems
- Transferring device control to another management platform
What happens during handover:
- Device is removed from your Connect Mesh network
- Core device settings (like meshbox configurations) are preserved
- Device becomes available for pairing with other compatible apps
- You lose control of the device in the Connect Mesh app
To regain control:
- The device must be re-added to your Connect Mesh network through the normal setup process
Only use this feature if you're certain you want to transfer control of the device to another system. This action cannot be easily undone.
