Starting with Connect Mesh App

To set up your appliances optimally, we recommend the following procedure in the uninstalled state. In rare cases, you may need to adapt the suggested procedure to the circumstances at hand. In general, we recommend that you take access to the Mesh devices in use into account when designing the furniture, e.g. by using service flaps. You can find further information on positioning your Connect Mesh devices here.

important

All mesh devices are not initially connected to the power supply.

Follow the steps below to set up your devices:

  1. Create network

Start the Connect Mesh App and create a new network. Give it a meaningful name.
  2. Create rooms

Set up the rooms in which the devices of your network are located.
  3. Set up actuators

Set up all actuators first, i.e. (Mesh Boxes, ceiling lights, 2-Channel Interface, etc.). Only connect the device that you want to add to the network next to the power supply. In this way, only one entry will appear during the device search. The permanently powered devices that have already been set up remain connected to the power supply and already ensure a stable mesh network.
  4. Set up control devices

Now set up all control devices one after the other, i.e. Wall Switches, Remote Controls and sensors. Connect these to the actuators and rooms that have already been set up.
  5. Create groups

Set up any missing groups. Groups can be freely defined to combine single devices to controllable units, e.g. kitchen shelves, floors, etc.
  6. Create scenes

Set up scenes. Use the room or group control of the app to set the lights involved to the desired state.
  7. Select favorites

Switch to "Control mode". Set up your favorites for your home screen. This allows you to access rooms, groups, scenes and individual devices at the touch of a button.
  8. Add schedules

Create schedules for your installation using the time control. This allows you to control your lighting automatically at defined times and days of the week.
  9. Set up Connect Mesh Gateway

If you have a Connect Mesh Gateway, set it up now.
  10. Backup network

Make a backup of your network.
