Add Device

Each device must first be added to a network. This process is called "provisioning". Each device in its delivery state is in provisioning mode (LED constantly flashing) and can be added to a network.

To add a new device, proceed as follows:

  • Switch to setup mode
  • Go to the "Devices" tab and press "add"
  • Wait a moment until your device appears (note the signal strength display to identify devices very close by)
  • Select your device to start the configuration

Identify Device

If multiple devices show up in the list, you can make a device blink to identify if it is the right device. Press the icon on the left side of the list entry for this. After a while, both the icon on the smartphone/tablet and the LED of the device start to blink (in devices with a fixed configuration, e.g. ceiling lights, the lamp itself also starts to blink).

Name Device

Give your device a meaningful name. This name should later help you to find the device again or to recognize an assignment based on its name.

Tip: For example, use a label printer to stick the name of the device directly onto the device. This allows for quick assignment and uniqueness, e.g. in the case of reconfiguration or exchange.

Note: Mesh Box names are no longer displayed when switching to control mode. Only the names of the configured end devices (e.g. "Baseboard Lighting Middle") are displayed here.
