Device status LED
Normally, every mesh device has a status LED. The blinking patterns of this LED have the following meanings:
Continuously on / Continuously off
This is the normal operating mode. In mains-powered devices (e.g. Mesh Boxes), the LED is constantly on when the device has already been successfully added (provisioned) to a network. In battery-powered devices, the LED is constantly off when the device has already been successfully added to a network.
Slow Blinking
With slow blinking, the device is in provisioning mode. This means that the device is ready to be added to a new network. The device always goes into provisioning mode automatically after it has been reset. Devices in provisioning mode are displayed by the app when you press the "+ Add" button in the "Devices" tab.
Double Blinking
Double blinking occurs when the app configures devices. Battery-powered devices first need to be woken up (e.g. by pressing a button). Afterwards, they should blink twice until the configuration interface in the app has been exited. Afterwards, battery-powered devices go back into sleep mode.
Fast Blinking
Fast blinking occurs when the firmware of your mesh device is being updated via the app (OTA=Over-the-Air Update). Alternatively, the device was powered with the reset button pressed. The fast blinking in this case indicates that the device is in OTA mode.
Three short blinks when waking up
Battery-powered devices blink three times when waking up to indicate that the battery is already weak. Please replace the battery in this case.
Two short blinks
When the reset button is pressed and held, the device blinks twice briefly as confirmation.
One short blink when waking up
Battery-powered devices without a reset button blink once briefly when waking up.
Note: On most devices, the status LED is located elsewhere. Please refer to the description of your device for this (e.g. on Mesh Boxes and remote controls on the front, on wall switches, ceiling lights and sensors on the back).
