Share Network
You can share your network with others. For this, a .connect file is exported which you can send to a contact via any smartphone app.
Important: You must export a separate network file for every subsequent participant. This way, each additional participant can be assigned their own network address. For this purpose, a number is attached to each .connect file. If multiple people use the same .connect file, after a while the network will no longer function properly.
Edit Shared Networks
If person A shares their network with person B and person B modifies it, this change is not synchronized with person A's app (even if they are both on the same network). Please always arrange the use of your mesh network so that only person A (who initially set up the network) makes all changes. Only this person should export and share networks. This is the only way to ensure that the state of the network is kept in sync with the state in the app.
Note: The sharing functionality will be enhanced in the future with an optional cloud-based synchronization and backup function. This will facilitate the synchronization of a network between multiple participants.
Backup Network
Please backup your network regularly, but at the latest after completion of commissioning. Save the .connect file if necessary on your cloud storage. This way, in case of loss of your end device, you can easily put the network into operation with another end device. Warning: If you have not secured a .connect file of your network, it is no longer possible to access the network. In this case, you have to manually reset all devices and add them to a new network. Follow these steps to backup:
- Go to the app settings
- Go to “Share”
- Select an app with which you want to save the .connect file (e.g. OneDrive, Drive, Dropbox, Secure Folder, Files, etc.)
Archive Network
You can archive networks that you have commissioned. These are then moved to the “Archive” list. This allows you to distinguish active networks from archived ones.
